Whether you're in a relationship or not, lockdown has been an emotional rollercoaster. But there have definitely been some real positives to having some enforced alone time, as Jameela Jamil has found.
The Good Place star and body positivity activist is currently locked down at the LA home she shares with her boyfriend, musician James Blake, and their new dog.
She says having to press pause on their busy schedules has helped them both to reconnect.
'I love James even more now because of lockdown,' she told Grazia.
'For the last two years I've been on three aeroplanes a week sometimes. And, you know, travelling the world to try and make people feel better about their mental health often means that I'm not at home looking after mine, and so being able to actually be in the same city as James is wonderful.'
She added: 'It's been amazing just to find out we still love each other.'
Jamil says she's happy not leaving the house right now because she's 'an introvert and I don't like to exercise'.
Instead she's been keeping busy during the pandemic by watching a BBC drama we're hooked on too: Michaela Coel's brilliant I May Destroy You. And 'rewatching all of my favourite movies, anything from When Harry Met Sally to Twister'.
Lockdown has also afforded her the time to interview 'fascinating people'. So far she's chatted to Roxanne Gay, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Porter and ALOK for her iWeigh podcast and YouTube channel.
Jamil's ‘iWeigh’ Instagram account – which now has 1.2 million followers – was created in response to witnessing the bullying and body shaming of women on social media.
Having battled anorexia as a teen, she told Red in 2019 that she still suffers from body dysmorphia.
She was also our first cover star to refuse airbrushing, explaining that as a British woman of Indian and Pakistani descent, she finds it pretty insulting when it's happened in the past.
'I was given a white face, a little English nose and perfect skinny thighs. It makes me feel gross. I’m sorry to anyone who ever saw pictures of me like that and wanted to be thin like me,' she said.
