Jake Paul blasted for ‘distasteful’ comment on Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury’s baby announcement
Jake Paul has once again been blasted by Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague fans after he left a “distasteful” comment on their baby announcement.
The Love Island stars, both 23, finally announced the birth of their baby girl on Monday (January 30).
Taking to Instagram to confirm the news, the new parents shared an adorable photo of them cradling their newborn daughter in hospital, with the caption: “23/01/23”.
While the couple’s celebrity friends flooded their comments section with congratulations, Paul, 26, used the opportunity to taunt his boxing rival ahead of their fight next month.
The YouTuber remarked under the family snap: “Just in time to watch your dad get knocked out,” alongside a smiley face emoji.
Although some found it amusing, many branded the comment “distasteful” and “disrespectful” given the couple are celebrating happy news.
One social media user penned: “Ngl I think this is disrespectful coming on to her page commenting that? Like she’s just had a baby leave me alone ygm” (sic).
“Why bring a baby into it? Sad, absolutely sad,” another wrote.
A third responded: “Jeeez man, have some taste” while another shared: “F**k off man, just let them have their happy moment.”
Last week, Paul faced backlash for prematurely announcing the birth of their baby days before the couple had publicly as he teased their fight in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, February 26.
The internet star took to Twitter and wrote: “Tommy has no excuses now… Baby’s born.
“Money’s massive. Immigration no issue. Tyson promises he & Papa will make Tommy retire from boxing & change his last name if he can’t beat the YouTuber.
“Tmw I’m coming to London to look at all 3 Fury’s in the eye and shake on that promise” (sic).
Aside from Paul’s comments, the couple, who met on 2019’s Love Island, announced their daughter’s birth a week after her arrival.
Hague wrote in her Instagram stories: “One week old today. I can’t believe we get to keep you forever.
“Becoming your mum has been the best thing to ever happen to me… it doesn’t seem possible but my love for you grows with each passing moment. There is no feeling like holding you in my arms little one, my heart literally explodes.
“Thank you for entering the world safely for us and blessing us with the gift of being your parents. We promise to love and and care for you unconditionally forever.”
