How Jade Thirlwall kept the Little Mix pregnancies a secret

·2-min read

Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards both announced their pregnancies this month, and Little Mix bandmate Jade Thirlwall has since revealed how she kept it a secret.

It's been a really big May for Little Mix fans. After Jesy Nelson landed her first solo magazine cover, Leigh-Anne took to Instagram to announce she was expecting her first child with Andre Gray. And mere days later, Perrie revealed she and footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were also going to be parents.

Their bandmate Jade has since revealed she faked a back injury during a music video shoot to help keep the pregnancies private. Now that's the kind of friend we need in our lives.

In a new TikTok live, Jade explains how she pretended to have a sore back on the 'Confetti' video shoot, in order to deflect attention from Perrie and Leigh-Anne, and to keep the crew from speculating.

"We were in rehearsals at the time," Perrie commented. "Me and Leigh-Anne were pregnant and so out of breath, but we didn't want anybody to know, like choreographers and things. We didn't want anyone in the room to know so Jade was going 'Oh, my back' and she was joining in! Leigh-Anne was going 'My back hurts' and Jade would go, 'Oh, my back, I know, my back is gone!'"

Jade then joked: "Any excuse for me to sit out for five minutes! I was just like, 'Yeah, me too!'" Perrie added, "We were all in it together!"

Sorry but that is the sign of a true friend right there. The band also revealed that Jade was "very overwhelmed" and cried when she found out about Perrie and Leigh-Anne's pregnancies, and that Perrie accidentally blurted out the news over Zoom.
