ITV has announced a new four-part suspenseful thriller, Our House.

Louise Candlish’s bestselling book of the same name will be adapted for a four part series by Simon Ashdown, the BAFTA nominated former lead writer on EastEnders. Belinda Campbell - who’s behind Death In Paradise - has been named as executive producer.

Our House tells the story of Fiona, who arrives home one day to find strangers moving into her house. With all her family’s possessions and furniture nowhere to be seen, Fi believes there’s been a huge mistake and insists her home isn’t for sale. Events spiral beyond her control, and she’s unable to reach her husband Bram.

With her life as she knows it disappearing before her eyes, Fi digs deeper and also realises her husband has disappeared too. But the secrets and lies have only just begun…

While the series hasn’t yet been cast, author Louise describes the adaptation as a “career highlight”.

“I was gripped by Louise’s brilliant novel from the first page and loved the deft intertwining of edge of your seat thriller and complex exploration of a marriage in free fall," says Simon, the show's writer. “It’s this balancing act between the two that makes Our House such a compelling story to adapt.”

Executive producer Belinda adds: “Simon and I knew as soon as we read Louise’s brilliant book that we had to adapt it for screen. The story is one of intrigue, conspiracy, and betrayal - full of twists and turns that leave you gripped until the last page.”

Our House begins filming in 2021.
