Today is International Scotch Whisky Day. The tradition of the celebrations may not go too far back but Scotch whisky does. For nearly 500 years, Scotch has drawn together people from different parts of the world. International Scotch Whisky Day is just another reason to raise your glasses and celebrate the rich tradition of Scotch whisky. Which is why we got Dewar’s India brand ambassador, Greg Benson to share four essential scotch whisky cocktails to take you not just through International Scotch Whisky Day but also your February parties.

1. Kolkata Highball

Dedicated to John Dewar’s India journey, who established the first Dewar’s office in India at Kolkata.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Dewar’s 12yr

  • Sugar syrup made with cinnamon, ginger and cardamom

  • Lemon juice

  • Soda water

  • Fresh mint for garnish

Method:

  • Shake all ingredients with ice and double strain in a tall Highball glass filled with ice.

  • Lengthen it with soda and give a quick stir.

  • Garnish with fresh mint

2. Green Tea Highball

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Dewar’s 12yr

  • 50ml Strong Green Tea

  • Lemon juice

  • A pinch of salt

  • Soda water

  • Orange wheel for garnish

Method:

  • Add Dewar’s 12yr and green tea in a tall Highball glass filled with ice.

  • Add in a tiny hint of lemon juice and a pinch of salt and lengthen it with soda water.

  • Garnish with a wheel of orange.

3. Madame Highball

Ingredients:

  • 30ml Dewar’s 12yr

  • Cranberry Juice

  • Lemon juice

  • Lemon wedge for garnish

Method:

  • Add Dewar’s 12yr in a tall Highball glass filled with ice.

  • Fill it to the brim with cranberry juice and squeeze the lemon wedge.

4. Dizzy Highball

Ingredients:

  • 30ml Dewar’s 12yr

  • Gingerale

  • Mint sprig for garnish

Method:

  • Add Dewar’s 12yr in a tall Highball glass filled with ice.

  • Lengthen it with Gingerale and garnish with fresh mint sprig.
