2005: The year Tyson and Paris met for the first time
Paris and Tyson were introduced to each other by the pro boxer's Aunty Theresa at a family wedding in 2005. According to Paris, Tyson's aunty is known as the family matchmaker, and has set plenty of his family up with their future spouses.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror in 2015, she recalled: "She [Aunty Theresa] said to Tyson: 'Come and meet this young lady'. I lifted my head and I was expecting to see someone at eye level because I’m not small myself, I’m five foot eight. I remember thinking, 'Whose this old man you’re introducing me to?'
Paris then shared how - despite Tyson being just 17 at the time - he "had a full beard, and was built like a machine." Jokingly, she remembered how she thought she'd been introduced to "an old man" at 15 years old.
2006: Tyson and Paris started dating
A year on from their first meeting, the soon to be couple we re introduced at Paris' 16th birthday party. 2008: Tyson and Paris called off their wedding weeks before it was scheduled
The couple's wedding was booked for November, however, Tyson, 35, decided he wanted to move it forward several months after he didn't land a spot at the Olympics that year.
The pair ended up arguing about the changes, with Paris revealing she reached "breaking point". The 33 year old subsequently split from Tyson, who she branded as "impulsive" at the time.
In her 2021 memoir Love and Fury, Paris said: "My fiancé clearly didn’t understand the amount of planning and organisation that went into a wedding. I was beginning to realise how incredibly impulsive he was, the sort of person who lived life in the moment and liked to make decisions on the hoof."
"In Tyson’s world, our big day could be rescheduled on a whim, just like one of his boxing matches. I was having none of it, though, and refused point blank to change the date," she added. However, the couple ended up sticking to their wedding date and rekindled their romance the same year.
2008: Tyson and Paris got married
After two years of courting, the couple said their 'I do's' at St. Peter-in-Chains Catholic Church in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, where Paris was brought up.
