Inside the 'argument' between Meghan and Kate before the royal wedding

The rumored blowup between Kate and Meghan that reportedly happened at a bridesmaids fitting ahead of the royal wedding? It really happened.

A friend of the royal family confirmed to People that "there was an argument between Meghan and Kate over the fit of Princess Charlotte's dress." Though it's unclear why, the Duchess of Cambridge was "left in tears" after the confrontation over her three-year-old daughter's ensemble.

When initial reports of the argument went public earlier this fall, though, The Telegraph reported that "Kate had only just given birth to Prince Louis and was feeling quite emotional," which is perhaps the reason why she broke down.

Another contributing factor to her boiling over emotions was the fact that the fittings all happened very close to Meghan's May 19 wedding to Prince Harry.

"There were very few fittings for the bridesmaids," another source explained. "Everything was left to the last minute, and it was really stressful for everyone involved."

Though the royal wedding itself ended up going off without a hitch, previous reports claimed that Meghan was also "upset" about the fact that Queen Elizabeth denied her first request of tiara. In another emotional moment, Harry reportedly shouted, "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!" to palace staff members.

Confirmation of the blowup between Meghan and Kate comes amid countless headlines about their reported tension behind the scenes. Despite that, Harry and Meghan are expected to spend Christmas with William, Kate and the rest of the royal family.
