PHOTOS: Thousands wait for buses to take them home amid COVID-19 panic

Over the past week, as India has moved towards and eventually enforced a nation-wide lockdown to try and contain the coronavirus pandemic, hundreds of thousands of migrant workers have been trying to make their way home. This past weekend, the interstate bus terminus at New Delhi saw a deluge of these workers. Most were confined to and fed at special relief camps as they waited for buses to take them to their villages in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Indian Railways, one of the world's busiest railroad networks, had announced a total shutdown of its services causing thousand to throng to the stations in an attempt to catch the last trains.
