The first images of Nicola Bulley on the day she went missing while walking her dog have been shared by a friend.

Pictures of the 45-year-old, who went missing from St Michael's on Wyre on Jan 27, show her loading her car outside her home before driving her two children to school and going for a riverside walk.

Ms Bulley was wearing a long padded parka, navy leggings and green-coloured ankle boots, and had her hair tied in a ponytail when she went missing.

Police say they believe the mother-of-two may have fallen in the river while walking her dog, Willow, a springer spaniel, last week.

Officers continued their search on Sunday, with police seen scouring the River Wyre. An underwater camera boat, drones, detectives and forensic teams with sniffer dogs were among the teams dispatched.

Families and walkers from as far away as Liverpool also came to St Michael's on Wyre on Sunday to join the search effort, with many bringing dogs and some deploying their own drones.

'Where is she and is she coming home?'

Locals also gathered at St Michael's Church in Lancashire to light candles on Sunday morning. Friends of Ms Bulley spoke of how they had rallied round the couple to offer support for the children.

Jill Peck, a friend of Ms Bulley, said it was particularly hard for the missing mother’s two children, aged six and nine. "They've got all the same emotions as everybody else and they want to see their mum, and they don't know where she is," she said.

Ms Peck told Sky News: "They just desperately want her home," adding: "All they are asking all the time is: 'Where is she and is she coming home?'"

Ms Bulley was last seen by another dog walker at about 9.10am on the day she went missing.

Her phone, which was still connected to a conference call, was found along with her dog on a riverside bench approximately 25 minutes later.

The dog's harness was found on the grass between the bench and the river's edge.

Lancashire Police say there is "absolutely nothing to suggest from all the extensive enquiries we have made that anything untoward has happened to her or that there is any third-party involvement in her disappearance".

Police have urged the public to look out along the river for the items of clothing that Ms Bulley was last seen wearing.

Authorities described her clothes as an ankle-length black quilted gilet jacket, a black Engelbert Strauss waist-length coat, tight-fitting black jeans, long green walking socks, ankle-length green Next wellies, a necklace and a pale blue Fitbit.

"It's really important that the public pay heed to those very specific clothing descriptions please, because factual sightings of those items would be very useful to us," said Supt Sally Riley, of Lancashire Police.

It comes after police said a "key witness" in the search for Ms Bulley came forward on Saturday following an appeal to find a woman walking near the river where she disappeared.

Police had released an image on Saturday of a woman wearing a yellow coat and pushing a pram who they believe was in the area shortly before Ms Bulley disappeared.

In a statement, the force said the woman came forward "very quickly" after their appeal and stressed their enquiries to find Ms Bulley "are extensive and will include speaking to as many members of the public as possible".
