I'm A Celeb's Dec Donnelly rushed to medics after being bitten by a spider
Declan Donnelly, one half of Ant and Dec, had a scare on I'm A Celebrity when he was bitten by a spider. The 49 year old presenter had to be checked over by medical professionals backstage to ensure the spider wasn't poisonous. Dec revealed the frightening incident during an Instagram live chat with fans last night, after Tulisa Contostavlos became the third campmate to leave camp.
His co-host, Ant McPartlin, told fans about the off-screen drama, saying: "We've had quite a lot of drama not only on the show, but off the show as well, because Dec had a spider on his neck and was bitten by a spider and the medic was called in to have a look." Dec even shared a picture of the offending spider, which he said jumped onto his script before biting his neck.
In typical Dec fashion, he made light of the situation, joking: "The medic said I was lucky to be alive. If I wasn't so fit and healthy, and masculine, I might not have survived."

However, Ant was quick to debunk Dec's claims, stating: "No, she didn't, she said it was a jumping spider and it was absolutely fine."
Ant and Dec have been hosting I'm A Celebrity in Australia since 2002, where there are around 10,000 species of spiders, many of which have a fearsome reputation. Jumping spider bites are rare and not venomous, but they can cause redness, itching, stinging and swelling.
These spiders earned their name due to their ability to jump between ten and 40 times their body length. Medic Bob is often seen on-screen treating celebrities with jungle health emergencies.
He's been a part of some unforgettable I'm A Celeb moments, like when he had to remove a cockroach from Fatima Whitbread's nose back in 2011.
He's also been on hand to help out Harry Redknapp (2019), Sam Quek (2016), and Matthew Wright (2013) when they found themselves with the same creepy crawlies in their ears. He also came to the rescue of TV personality and nutritionist Gillian McKeith after she fainted during a live show in 2010.
Gillian fainted on numerous occasions, after becoming overwhelmed by just the thought of taking part in a Bushtucker Trial. While many sympathised with the star others, including her camp mates, questioned her fainting spells.
