Nicola McLean has accused Emmerdale actor Danny Miller of playing up to the cameras on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in order to get air time.

The soap star was voted to take part in the first eating trial of the series after he was seen vomiting during the helicopter ride in the launch episode.

Former glamour model McLean took part in I'm A Celebrity in 2008 and she had accused Miller of putting on an act to win popularity with viewers.

She told The Daily Star: "I’m not sure whether Danny is already playing a game because I cannot see if you are that sort of... if you gag a lot, if you’re sick, you’ve already been sick twice in the helicopter and swallowed it, why would you carry on saying this? Of course you know you’re gonna get the eating trial.”

And the 40-year-old former Celebrity Big Brother star — who took part in her own Bushtucker eating trial with winner Joe Swash — said it is the best challenge to get.

She went on: “I don’t know if he wanted the eating trial cause it is the best trial to get.

"It is disgusting but it is the best one cause it’s the one people remember. I’m not upset if he’s playing the game but I cant see that’s he’s not.

"The soap stars are so popular, Danny wouldn’t have gotten voted for the first trial had he not gone on about the fact that he was sick so I think it could be kind of a clever game."

Miller faced radio DJ Snoochie Shy in the Dreaded Diner trial with items on the menu including cow teats, pig brain, fermented catfish, goat's testicle and bull penis.

Although he had said the eating trial was his idea of a nightmare and retched his way through the menu, Miller managed to complete every dish.

He then had to race to drink Van Hella milkshake, which was blended fermented tofu.

Miller managed to finish the drink first although he was sick straight afterwards, meaning his camp won dinner for the night while Shy's camp had to survive on rice and beans.

Some viewers agreed with McLean that Miller may be playing up to the cameras.

Ruby tweeted: "Snoochie ate far more than he did, he's playing a game, gagging every time the camera was on her, he's an actor and he's playing the game."

Karly commented: "Possible controversial opinion. Hear me out. Danny Miller saw the attention Jordan North got last year by acting like this and all the popularity it got him and is acting it. He’s at it! He is after all a 3x ‘best actor’."

Vicky observed: "Hmmm is Danny Miller playing the ‘scared’ game to get air time ??"

And James said: "I honestly cannot stand Danny Miller. He seems really fake and playing up to the camera. I’d say like a good actor but I can see right through it already."
