If you love Clinique's Black Honey lipstick, you'll love this lip and cheek oil

The tinted lip oil is a favorite amongst Black Honey enthusiasts.

Hi, hello, we'll bet you're here because you love Clinique's universally flattering shade, Black Honey. No? You've never heard of it? Well, the "just snacked on a bowl of blackberries" shade had its first heyday in the '90s and was the go-to daily glam lip color of icons like Drew Barrymore, Julia Roberts, Kate Moss and more. It's seen a widespread resurgence over the last few years thanks to social media. Why? The jammy color looks good on pretty much everyone. That said, if you're not a lipstick wearer, Clinique sells the popular color in a few of its other products like mascara and eyeliner. But we can't get enough of the popular Black Honey Pop Lip and Cheek Oil.

Clinique's Pop Lip and Cheek Oil is a two-for-one product (as you can probably guess by the name of it). You can swipe the sheer, tinted oil over your lips or blend it in on your cheeks for a fresh, dewy look. Of course, you can also layer it over the Black Honey lipstick for extra shine. The formula is made with a nourishing, vitamin-packed blend of safflower, jojoba, olive, sunflower seed and castor oils that moisturize and soften anywhere you apply it — giving your cheeks a dewy glow and your lips a luscious pout.

Now, you should know that most of Clinique's Black Honey products tend to sell out. Frankly, we're shocked it's still in stock at Amazon. The Pop Lip and Cheek Oil launched in June 2024 in the famous shade, and shoppers flocked to scoop it up.

"I buy every variation of Clinique Black Honey," said one five-star reviewer. "I have them all, but the Lip and Cheek Oil is my favorite,"

"It goes on the lips easily and looks very pretty. It leaves the lips feeling very soft. This is not sticky at all and truly is a beautiful color," said another. They added, "At first it goes on dark and it looked very dark, but once I rubbed my lips together it turned into this beautiful color."

"Super impressed by this lip gloss," shared a shopper. "A small dot on your lips goes a long way in enhancing your natural shade. Then, a dot on each cheek is enough to add a hint of very natural-looking color. The oil appears very dark in the bottle, but it's light and translucent when you put it on... Highly, highly recommend!"

And while you may know this shade from the 90s, it's been around for nearly 50 years. One long-time fan shared: "When I first began using Black Honey in the 1970s, it came in a little pot. Although I do miss that type of presentation, this wonderful [shade] has not changed! It is still so beautiful and flattering!" said

Now, Clinique's Pop Lip and Cheek Oil is so popular today that it's one of Amazon's top-selling lip stains (although we think of it as more of a gloss). We say, grab one for yourself while it's available! Personally, we're stocking up.

Multitasking never looked so pretty — this formula is made from safflower, jojoba, olive, sunflower seed and castor oils and looks equally gorgeous on cheeks as it does on lips.

If you're looking for a similar color with a lower price tag, Amazon shoppers are also loving E.l.f's Hydrating Core Lip Shine in the color, Ecstatic. Check out this list of our beauty editor's favorite Black Honey lookalike lippies.

Love the idea of a glossy, jammy lip but don't love the Clinique price tag? Shoppers say this gives the same berry pout at Black Honey, at a fraction of the price. Alas, it's not great on your cheeks — while it's a great deal, it doesn't do double duty like its pricier counterpart.
