The ‘Hunger Games’ Cast Dressed Like Native New Yorkers for Their Final Premiere

Since 2012 when the first Hunger Games came out, the stars of the series have walked countless red carpets around the world. In four years, characters have been killed off (the premise is based on teenagers annually killing each other in an arena for entertainment purposes after all) and new ones have entered — Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, and Jena Malone, to name a few, came into the fold later — but each has treated the press tour as seriously as they would a Victory Tour. (Don’t get the reference? See the movies! Or, even better, read the books!)

Together, the cast toured the world promoting their film, making stops in Berlin, Paris, Madrid, and even Shanghai. Jennifer Lawrence wore a lot of Dior (with a few exceptions including a red blazer dress from Mugler in Spain), Josh Hutcherson displayed his man style (which is anything but ordinary, and Liam Hemsworth tried out some colorful suits.

Following stops in Europe and Asia, the cast came stateside. At the film’s Hollywood premiere, just days after a deadly terrorist attack hit France (and three days after the crew debuted their film there), the actors paid tribute to the city by wearing pins with the red, white, and blue flag on their black tie looks. “I’d like to note the horrific events that occurred three days‎ ago in Paris,” Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said as he introduced the movie. “We want to express our sympathy to the brave people of Paris. We stand with them tonight.”

For the last stop, the crew hit New York’s Lincoln Center. While none of the actors are natives, they still got the dress code memo: black is always appropriate. Lawrence wore a Schiaprelli gown with a sheer top that showed off a lacy bralette, Dormer donned head-to-toe leather, and Malone made fishnets classy.

The reviews for the film might not be in yet, but in terms of fashion, the cast has certainly showed it’s going out on top.
