The Greatest Showman came out a solid four years ago in 2017, but we're still singing the songs on a pretty much daily basis, especially with a sequel rumoured to be on the cards - we're just prepping. The good news is that film star Hugh Jackman recently gave an update on what stage The Greatest Showman 2 is at. The bad news is it isn't exactly the stage we'd like it to be at...

During promotion for his new film Reminiscence Jackman spoke about the long-sought after sequel and frankly, broke hearts worldwide. "I don't know, I don't think so. There's no script. I don't know what's happening with that," he told LADbible.

"And you know, this was a Fox movie that is now a Disney movie, right? So I don't know what the plan is. I haven't heard anything. Honestly, I haven't heard anything.

"But it did take us eight years to get that first movie made, you know, to create and write music and build it. So if there's going to be a sequel, and I'm not going to be on a Zimmer frame, we better get going."

Look, it doesn't sound great, I'll give you that. But crucially, it's not a no, is it? If anything it's just a message from Hugh Jackman for Disney to get a shift on with the script.
