Hugh Grant says he "can't even remember" what happens in Love Actually

From Cosmopolitan

It's safe to say Love Actually will be ingrained in our brains for the rest of eternity, and while we might know the script literally back to front, it seems like that isn't exactly the case for some of the film's actual cast members.

Yep, Hugh Grant, who played the Prime Minister in the movie, has revealed that he doesn't actually remember what happens in it. Erm... how?

In an interview with Digital Spy, the actor discussed whether we'll be seeing a Love Actually sequel any time soon, simultaneously exposing himself for forgetting what happens in the original film.

Plus, he revealed that he can't remember his own character's fate either.

When asked about the possibility of a full sequel to Love Actually, Hugh replied, "I don't know. I've never thought about that... I can't even remember what happens in the film."

He went on to explain, "It's so long since I've seen it. You'd have to remind me [laughs]. How do I end up?"

Given that Love Actually first came out in 2003 and that Hugh has been pretty busy making a tonne of other film and TV classics in the years since (hello, The Undoing), we'll let him off for forgetting a few minor details.

And in case you need reminding too: Hugh's character, David (aka the Prime Minister), ended up finding love with Downing Street staff member Natalie, with their romance revealed during an on-stage kiss at the school play.

Hugh actually did return to the screen as David more recently, with a Comic Relief Love Actually mini sequel showing him dancing to Drake's Hotline Bling in 2017.

Still, some cast members certainly remember what happens in the Christmas classic, with Olivia Olson, who played Joanna in the film, recently revealing what Hugh Grant and fellow cast-member Emma Thompson were really like to work with.

Who reckons Hugh should sit down for a re-watch?
