Huge pop star engaged and flashes diamond ring after surprise proposal
Pop sensation Mabel has announced her engagement to beau Preye Crooks, following a surprise proposal. The 28 year old Finders Keepers hitmaker took to social media to share the exciting news, showing off her stunning diamond engagement ring.
Mabel who has been in a relationship with the son of Tottenham Hotspur legend and well-known BBC pundit Garth Crooks since 2021, was overjoyed when her partner popped the question. The Brit Award-winning singer threw a lavish party at the British Library to celebrate the occasion with her nearest and dearest, with one friend giving fans a sneak peek of the festivities on TikTok. The lovebirds looked blissfully happy as they shared a slow dance surrounded by rose petals and candles, while their guests cheered them on.
In a heartfelt post, their friend Fet Bakare wrote: "Whenever you spoke about her, I knew you really loved her. It was very clear from the start, just how deeply you felt for her.

Mabel, who's full name is Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey, looked sensational in a pink silk gown and couldn't wipe the smile off her face as she showed off her huge diamond ring.
Meanwhile 30 year old Preye cut a dapper figure as he made a speech to mark the special occasion. Fans raced to the comments of the TikTok video to send their best wishes to the happy couple. One person said: "Aww mabel congrats to her." Another wrote: "Sobbing. This is so adorableeeee I wish them all the best." A third added: "Aww the caption is so sweet, congratulations to the happy couple."
Someone else said: "Awwh big up P & M this is beautiful." Mabel’s beau is an executive at Sony and runs the Strawberries & Creem Festival. They began dating in 2021.
At the time, a source told The Sun: “They met through work, but it’s already going from strength to strength. They both work in the industry and have loads of common interests, he’s not threatened by her success and gets her hectic life-style. They’re a great match.” Mabel, daughter of singer Neneh Cherry, has previously been linked with Robert Pattinson, rapper NOT3S and American actor Rome Flynn.
