After months of waiting, House Of Gucci is almost here! Ahead of the film landing in cinemas on 26 November, the embargo for reviews and reactions has finally lifted. But what have critics said about Lady Gaga's portrayal of Patrizia Reggiani? The short answer is she's amazing, and many think the performance is basically Oscar-worthy.

House Of Gucci tells the real life story of Patrizia, the former wife of Gucci founder Maurizio Gucci, who was convicted of ordering the murder of her husband in Milan back in 1995. The film will follow the crime and the corresponding fall of the House of Gucci.

While there has already been a lot of controversy surrounding the film's release, with Patrizia herself criticising Gaga for not reaching out, fans are super excited to see the 35-year-old's latest acting role.

Especially because the general reaction has been so great, with many praising Gaga - real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta - and her performance. "There’s a true standout performance here from Lady Gaga… She centres, even grounds the movie while having a grand time doing so. Accordingly, she’s firmly in the conversation for a second best-actress nomination," one review said.

Another put, "Lady Gaga is a magnetic force. Just when you think she’s peaked, she goes and blows your mind all over again" and "It is absolutely criminal how good an actress Lady Gaga is, and how good she is HOUSE OF GUCCI."

Others have been calling the performance Oscar-worthy.

Lady Gaga won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2021 thanks to her performance in A Star Is Born, while she also won Best Original Song for 'Shallow'.
