Mercury has stationed retrograde in Gemini and everyone is ready to admit that they’re not very ready at all. Better to write to your list and check it twice, especially since Gemini season is always a wild mix of naughty and nice. Santa in June jokes aside, it’s generally a good week to allow for a little duality whether it comes to something more serious, like the motives of others, or something more mundane, like the weather forecast.
Monday’s Aquarian moon puffs our sails with a little emotional perspective, but it also makes a conjunction to Saturn which might have us wondering if there’s a bigger lesson to be learned. But, for those of us looking toward our days off, discerning the lesson from the inconvenience feels like another layer of labour. If the small stuff slides, let it. The big picture stuff comes into focus a lot quicker when we’re not zooming into the minor details. Of course, Mercury Rx is generally all about the details, but tying up loose ends and clarifying communications is one thing, obsessing over what someone meant when they said what they said is another. Venus shifts into Cancer on June 2nd, amplifying our sensitivities, but a trine to Jupiter in Pisces reminds us to look beyond our personal narrative while the quarter moon in Pisces helps us move along, a half light reminding us that we always only know half the story, but when we hold on to it too tightly, we hold the whole burden.
In the coming week, we can be both direct about our needs and generous in the ways we engage others. We can clarify what we heard and we can assume the best of others. We can set boundaries around engaging with those whose behaviour is painful to us while recognising that their behaviour has nothing to do with us. We can transform what we are building together, but that requires a shared understanding of the roles we play and how we wish to be regarded.

When you think of viral fashion trends on TikTok, what comes to mind? Obviously there’s With Jéan’s Alexa dress, a ruched terry cloth frock that’s spawned a million knockoffs, not to mention over 10 million views on the platform. There’s also House of Sunny’s Good Vibrations dress, a follow-up to the London-based brand’s sold-out Hockney Dress (another viral hit!). Aritzia’s Melina trousers, Mirror Palais’ Fairy dress, and Zara’s wide-leg full-length jeans are a few others. These garments are fa
Cat White is a writer, filmmaker, gender expert for the UN and founder of Kusini Productions, a Black female-led platform created to champion voices of Black women and girls. Her upcoming film Fifty-Four Days follows the journey of a girl who starts wild swimming in the wake of losing her father to suicide. Here, she tells us the real-life inspiration behind the project. When I went swimming for the first time it felt like freedom. I can still remember 5-year-old me bouncing in my car seat, the
Once upon a time, I would forget to put concealer on then get asked if I was poorly for the rest of the day. Dark under-eyes have been my lifelong bugbear and no amount of drinking water, unbroken sleep (a rare thing since I became a mum) or healthy eating seemed to lift those purple semi-circles of doom. A beauty editor for over 13 years, you’d think I’d have discovered some miracle eye cream by now. You’d be wrong. The person who discovers that cream will be a multimillionaire because when it

When you think about trans healthcare, you might (rightly) think of long waiting lists to access Gender Identity Clinics (GICs), the challenging hoops trans patients are often required to jump through to ‘prove’ their identity, or the recent legal case around prescribing puberty blockers to under 16s. But that’s not all trans and non-binary people are subjected to. We already know that there’s a gender health gap when it comes to the healthcare that cis women receive. We’re less likely than men
It’s a strange time of year. The summer gave out a limp blast of heat and now we’re fully in the throes of autumn. Amid navigating a tricky transitional wardrobe (Google searches include: how am I cold and sweaty at the same time?) and lamenting rising energy bills due to the darker days, we’ve resigned ourselves to spending the month ahead on the sofa. Thankfully, Netflix has been at our service to ease our reluctant bodies out of the summer months with lots of incredible content. Sex Education
