The at-home wellness treatments people are booking right now

·2-min read

Since the start of the pandemic, we've become used to doing almost everything at home: working, relaxing and even attending all sorts of events. And so it only makes sense that the world of wellness has migrated to inside our four walls, too, with more people than ever, choosing to indulge in a little RnR time at home, rather than heading to a spa.

Urban, a wellness platform where users can book at-home treatments via an app, reported an increase in bookings in comparison with 2019. They also revealed that overall search for the term 'massage at home' online has increased by 89% in the same timeframe.

And if you're looking to de-stress and get in some extra relaxation at home, Urban say their most popular treatment is the deep tissue massage.

A deep tissue massage will work out the knots from stressed, overworked muscles and connective tissue to alleviate aches and pain, as well as chronic joint and muscle pain. It also promotes faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

And if you're looking for something a little more interesting, the wellness platform shared their most popular, and most interesting, treatments:

1.Muscle therapy with Theragun® - The Theragun® percussive therapy device is designed to reach deep into the muscles and increase blood flow. With a powerful 16mm amplitude, it reaches deeper than massage alone. The speed and frequency bring a whole new dimension to a massage, oxygenating the muscles and flushing out toxins for a truly reinvigorating experience.

2.Sleep massage - a premium treatment using a curated list of essential oils to help promote sleep, the treatment has been increasingly popular since reopening with people having difficulties sleeping due to stress

3.Lymphatic drainage massage - lymphatic treatments are particularly popular in summer months. This sort of treatment with get your circulation going, and can help prevent swollen joints, as well as boosting energy levels, improves mood and helping to combat anxiety.

4.Anti-cellulite massage - Just incase you need a little boost of confidence (we all do sometimes), this treatment boosts blood circulation and collagen production, while also lessening the appearance of cellulite by breaking down fatty tissue.
