A model looking like a holographic Christmas tree walked the catwalk at the Noir Kei Ninomiya show. Noir explained that he wanted to experiment with “new worlds, new concepts, new things.”

Late punk legend Vivienne Westwood's spirit lived on at the designer brand's show. The fashion legend's widow and collaborator Andreas Kronthaler paid tribute to his wife with an array of fierce punk styles.

Balenciaga kept things low-key for its return to Paris Fashion Week following the fashion house's ad scandal, which saw the company accused of promoting child exploitation last year. Models walked with bold coloured-lens shades and figure-hugging all-in-ones. Demna, Balenciaga’s artistic director, noted: “There will be nothing to see but clothes. “I need to be the radical antidote – to not be in that conversation at all. That’s what Cristóbal Balenciaga would do.”

Pierre Cardin's Mars Collection saw some striking, spacey silhouettes on display.
