Hollyoaks' Verity Hutchinson makes huge decision in Eric story

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks has aired a twist for Verity Hutchinson in her brother Eric Foster's radical misogyny storyline.

In previous episodes, Eric's laptop – which contains proof of him being The Love Boat spiker and his involvement in incel group Men First – went missing right when he had agreed to hand it over to Verity.

In tonight's (November 24) scenes, Eric was convinced Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) had taken his laptop and was frantically looking for it, telling Verity there was "some seriously bad stuff" on it.

Despite helping her brother look, Verity assured him she'd turn the laptop in to the police the minute they got it back.

"I'm sorry but what you've done is unforgivable," Verity told him. "You've brought fear and terror to every woman in this village."

"A second chance is all I'm asking for," Eric pleaded, hinting at not being able to survive if he ended up in prison. "I'll get eaten alive in there, and you know it."

Later on, during a conversation with Diane (Alex Fletcher) in which she invited him to change people's perception of him, Eric said he wished he'd never existed, raising concerns in Verity.

The two had a heart-to-heart afterwards, with Verity reluctantly deciding not to turn him in.

"Just don't make me regret this, okay?" she told her brother.

In the final scenes, it was revealed that Maxine had the laptop – which also has evidence of Verity knowing of her brother's behaviour – and was struggling to guess Eric's password. Will she be able to access the incriminating files?

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
