Holly Willoughby has been forced to miss the Dancing On Ice semi-final after testing positive for COVID-19.

The star, 41, was due to co-host Sunday night's penultimate instalment of the skating series, but her diagnosis means she will now be isolating at home.

Instead, the ITV show will be fronted by her fellow presenter Phillip Schofield – who caught the virus himself last month.

As reported by Hello! Online, a spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, Holly Willoughby is unable to host tonight's show after testing positive for COVID-19.

"We look forward to Holly returning for the Dancing on Ice live final."

The final of the series – which still has five celebrities vying to win – is due to take place next week, on 20 March.

Willoughby is also likely to be absent from upcoming episodes of This Morning, which she presents Monday to Thursday alongside Schofield.

It is no longer a legal requirement to self-isolate following a positive test, but the government advice does currently state that people should say home and avoid contact with others.

Willoughby has not yet publicly commented on the news.

On Saturday, she revealed on Instagram that her dog Bailey had attacked her Dyson vacuum.

Captioning a funny picture of her pet with the broken machine, she wrote: "Dyson update... my dog ate my hoover."

Earlier this week, the mother-of-three was pictured attending the fourth birthday party of private member's club Annabel's relocation to its 46 Berkeley Square address.

The star, who attended the 1970s-themed event with husband Dan Baldwin, wowed in a multi-coloured sequin dress by Attico.
