Holly Willoughby shared a sweet post of This Morning co-presenter and friend Phillip Schofield blowing out candles for his birthday today (1 April).

In an Instagram story on his own account, Phil revealed the cake had been baked by Holly’s three children; Harry, Belle and Chester.

Alongside the post, Holly wrote a touching message and wished, “happy birthday to this gorgeous human,” and added, “love you to bits @schofe forever my partner in laughter.”

In another post showcasing her outfit for the day, Holly said today’s This Morning show (the last before an Easter break for the presenters) would be “ending on a high” in honour of Phil’s birthday and promised “cake will be eaten!”

Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield are daytime telly favourites and scoop up awards year after year for their presenting skills on ITV. As well as This Morning, the pair also present Dancing on Ice, cementing them as a classic TV pairing for the network.

The pair are close friends in real life and often dissolve into fits of giggles on their morning show, much to the delight of viewers. In the past, Phil and the show’s crew have fooled Holly live on air with pranks.

With today being April Fool’s Day, Holly might need to keep her wits about her - although it does seem like Phil’s birthday is going to be the main focus of today’s show.
