Holly Willoughby tends to keep her family life relatively quiet on social media, but she couldn't resist posting about her son's "hero" when it was revealed Arsenal's mascot has been made redundant by bosses.
The This Morning presenter shared a picture of herself, taken 10 years ago at her son Harry's first birthday party, giving Gunnersaurus a hug – in tribute to the much-loved mascot.
She captioned the image: "So very very sad to hear the news that @officialgunnersaurus has been released by @arsenal He was at my son Harry’s 1st birthday and he’s a hero in our house! He’ll never be extinct in our eyes. Bring back Gunnersaurus!"
The iconic Gunnersaurus mascot will no longer support Arsenal after he was let go from the team in a cost-cutting exercise, and the news prompted heartache from many a fan. Along with Holly, Piers Morgan also posted on social media to show his disdain at the sad news.
Holly's husband Dan Baldwin is a long-time Arsenal supporter, and Harry has followed in his footsteps. However, the couple's youngest son Chester has broken away to support Chelsea, with Holly revealing a cake for the Blues at his sixth birthday party.
"If anyone knows my @arsenal loving husband you’ll know how much this Cake for Chester's birthday is killing him… I blame you entirely @franklampard…" she wrote on Instagram at the time.
"However that’s our boy all over… marching to the beat of his own drum, spreading absolute joy wherever he goes … We love you so very much Chester Chops…"
Let's hope Chester isn't too smug today!
