Holly Willoughby started the week off with a pop on Monday morning (5 October). The TV star wore a bright jewel-toned pink dress to present This Morning, and revealed that the pretty floral dress was in fact rented.
Sharing a snap of herself in the colourful dress on her Instagram page ahead of the show, the host wrote in the caption: "Morning Monday... Grey day = pink dress!"
It certainly is a mood-boosting pop of colour for a grizzly day. But on top of being a lovely dress, it was also a sustainable choice, in that it was from a rental from a service called Hurr.
Holly told followers:"Thanks @danniiwhiteman for finding this rental dress from @hurr ... such a great way of injecting your wardrobe with something new that doesn’t only get worn once or twice... #sustainablefashion #hwstyle💁🏼♀️✨"
The designer dress by Sau Lee retails for £400 but is available to rent starting at £55. The site also offers mid-range brands such as Whistles, French Connection, Ted Baker and Ghost, with rental prices starting from £11.
It's a perfect solution for formal events or celebrations where you may not get a chance to re-wear often.
Renting fashion is becoming more and more common as an affordable but also sustainable way of keeping your wardrobe fresh and new, without ending up with cupboards filled with pieces worn only once or twice.
The fashion industry has a huge environmental impact but sustainable choices are becoming more varied and easier to access.
It's great to see Holly getting involved!
