Social media users baffled by hooded H&M skirt
This year introduced us to the likes of upside-down trousers and nine-foot long jeans but just when it seemed we’d escaped the bizarre trends of 2018, H&M has given us one final surprise.
The high street chain is selling a grey cotton mini skirt with erm, a hood.
Seemingly designed to resemble the teenage trend of tying a hoodie around your waist in a carefree manner, the £34.99 garment features drawstring ties and even a zip.
The mini skirt is part of the H&M x Moschino collaboration and according to the description, it’s made from ‘lightweight organic cotton sweatshirt fabric’ and boasts ‘a decorative, double-layered drawstring hood at the top.’

Unsurprisingly, there are plenty of sizes left in stock as social media users took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the skirt.
A large number were perplexed as to why it showed up as a sponsored suggestion on their feed, as one joked: “Actually offended that the H&M algorithm has calculated that I want to see a skirt with a hood on my timeline.”
While others were more shocked by the price tag, as another added: “Have I actually just seen this advertised to me on Insta? A skirt with a hood? Can someone explain wtf that even is and why H&M are trying to charge folk £34.99 for it?”
