Hilarious ad campaign features t-shirts emblazoned with rubbish stock photos

You can tell a stock photo a mile off, they’re the type of cringeworthy staged image reserved for power point presentations and corporate literature. They serve a purpose as a visual aid; the choreographed actors and models with their obvious props tell a clear and immediate story, but they most definitely belong behind closed (corporate) doors.

Until now…

Adobe has teamed up with Swedish agency Abby Priest to launch a hilarious clothing line celebrating some of it’s most iconic/worst stock images. The marketing campaign to push the new Adobe Stock collection features hipsters sporting T-shirts and jumpers emblazoned with the pictorial clichés we all love to hate.

Sadly this also heralds the end of stock images as we know them because Adobe has overhauled it’s catalogue with a collection of “stock images for the new era.” No more will we see “smiling woman drawing red graph” or “mature business man with boxing gloves fighting co-worker”. Instead, subscribers will be invited to dip into a library of beautiful, Pinterest perfect photographs.

It’s a bold tongue-in-cheek move that shows the company’s prepared to laugh at itself and a smart marketing ploy that’s sure to grab a lot more attention that conventional forms of advertising.

Unfortunately the clothing isn’t available to buy, though we’re sure some people would be well up for getting their hands on the merch.

You can view the the full collection here.
