Oasis infamously split in 2009 after a backstage bust-up between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, which ended with Liam swinging a guitar "like an axe" at his older brother. All these years later, the pair are still not on speaking terms and continue to trade barbs in the press and on social media with Liam, 50, branding Noel, 55, branding his bro a "potato" on Twitter and attacking his wife Sara MacDonald. Liam has offered an olive branch to Noel on a few occasions but it seems the guitarist is intent on looking back in anger.

Like all sisters, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian have had their ups and downs. But in 2020, things got pretty intense during an episode of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'. The pair got into a physical scuffle over Kourtney's work ethic. However, three years on, things are still as intense between the sisters. According to their mother, Tina Knowles, Beyoncé hated Solange when they were young as Solange tried desperately hard not to be in the shadow of her older sibling. Actresses Dakota and Elle Fanning were the biggest rivals growing up, and Elle even admitted to beating her sister up. Elle once recalled: “When we were little we would fight all the time. I’m taller, so I would be the one beating her up.”

Fans were devastated in 2013 to discover The Jonas brothers - made up of Nick, Kevin and Joe - had abruptly cancelled their 19-date tour. The family band claimed that there had been "a big disagreement over their music direction". The band eventually reunited in 2019.

Meghan Markle and her half-sister Samantha have been estranged for years, and things has worsened between them since the latter started speaking out against her younger sibling to the media following her marriage to Prince Harry and treatment of their dad Thomas Markle. In the 'Harry and Meghan' docuseries on Netflix, Meghan had her say on the salacious headlines from Samantha and claimed she hardly knows a thing about her. She said: "Suddenly, it felt like she was everywhere. I don't know your middle name. I don't know your birthday. You're telling these people you raised me, and you coined me Princess Pushy?"

Mariah Carey claimed her sister tried to "sell her out to a pimp" when she was just 12 years old. The 'Fantasy' singer detailed in her memoir how her older sibling Allison "drugged" her with tranquilizers and offered her cocaine before "inflicting" injury on her and attempting to turn her to prostitution. Appearing on 'The Oprah Conversation', host Oprah Winfrey read out an extract from the book, 'The Meaning of Mariah Carey', which stated: "When I was 12 years old, my sister drugged me with Valium, offered me a pinky nail full of cocaine, inflicted me with third degree burns and tried to sell me out to a pimp." Mariah claimed Allison or her brother Morgan - who she refers to as ex-sister and ex-brother- had "sold lies" about her and spent decades "attacking" her. And she alleged her brother was "extremely violent" while her sister was "troubled and traumatised".

Jamie Lynn has been criticised for supporting her sister Britney’s conservatorship and going against the FreeBritney movement. Britney, whose conservatorship was terminated after nearly 14 years in 2021, blasted her younger sibling for writing a book which included details of her conservatorship. The ‘Toxic’ hitmaker accused her sister of exploiting her situation for money by releasing a memoir titled ‘Things I Should Have Said'. One extract read: "Britney has not read and does not intend to read your book, she and millions of her fans were shocked to see how you have exploited her for monetary gain. She will not tolerate it, nor should she."

Prince Harry has revealed he's only just learning to "grasp" sibling rivalry amid his feud with Prince William. Ahead of the release of his bombshell memoir 'Spare', he explained that while it "really hurt" that his sibling "didn't want to know him" during their teenage years at school, now that he's a father himself, he can understand it more. He said: "We grew up, our mother [Diana] was dressing us in the same clothes to start. "William didn't like that, I thought it was quite funny I guess. The sibling rivalry as such is now only really becoming real to me. [In the book] I talk about the relationship between William and myself at Eton and the fact that he didn't really want to know me and as a younger brother that sucks. He didn't want anything to do with me and that hurt at the time. Now, the gap between me and William is very similar to Archie and Lili and to see Lili obsessed with Archie and Archie is like 'No, I need my space', I get it. But at the moment in time, I didn't grasp it." But after Harry's shocking claims about the pair's physical altercation over comments William made about Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, it's going to take a lot for the pair to start talking again.
