Here’s when you’re most likely to be cheated on in your relationship

In any long-term relationship, partners will be tempted to cheat – but is it possible to predict when it’s going to happen?

Yes, according to a team of Israeli researchers (and it’s not quite as simple as the ‘seven year itch’).

The researchers asked 423 volunteers to rate the reasons they might cheat, and whether they might cheat on a partner if the opportunity came up, according to IFLScience.

Interestingly, the researchers found that it differed across the sexes: women are most likely to cheat on their husbands between six and 10 years into a relationship.

With men, they’re most likely to cheat on their wives after 11 years.

The researchers say that strong moral standards, or a strong fear of being alone are a powerful antidote to infidelity – more important than fears of the effect on the other person, or on the children.
