The price of dating culture can be expensive, with the average Brit spending over £50 ($66) per date.

A survey of 1,000 people by Plusnet found that Brits spend about £53 per date, with those aged 22 or younger, more likely to splash the cash with reckless abandon, spending £68 to woo a potential partner.

This equates to more than £3,500 a year – compared with their older counterparts, aged 55 to 75, who say they wouldn’t spend more than £10 on a future lover.
