Anya has been dating musician Malcolm McRae since early 2021, while the pair have been photographed kissing and together on the red carpet on various occasions.

Are Anya and Malcolm secretly married?! According to Page Six, the pair had an "intimate courthouse wedding" in the US last month, weeks after Malcolm was spotted with a diamond ring on her wedding finger.
So far, neither Malcolm, Anya or their reps have commented on the rumours.

Anya opens up to Vanity Fair about a "devastating breakup" she experienced before filming Emma, and how that impacted her life and career. "It had challenged everything. I was just incredibly insecure and very, very unsafe in my own skin. The whole of 2019 was me becoming a woman, essentially."

Though it's not known how or when Anya and Malcolm met, she first referenced him in an interview with Elle about a year ago. "My partner’s just come back from work, and he’s moving around all of his equipment, so this was the safe spot," she said, in reference to taking the interview from her bathroom.

A source tells The Sun (via Elle) that Malcolm has practically moved into Anya's place in LA, and that the pair are smitten. "They are inseparable and spend all of their time together.
"Her schedule is really hectic because she is so in demand following The Queen’s Gambit, but he is always there for her. Malcolm is practically living with her at her home in L.A. now, and they spend every night together."

Anya opens up about their relationship to British Vogue, this time touching on how they like to hang out together. "I said to my partner the other day that he was my hobby,” she said. "I see reading as something that I have to do. He loved it because he’s the same. I’ve finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading. We’re basically 80 years old and seven at the same time and it works really well."
On their relationship being long distance, since she owns a house in East London and is often travelling for work, Anya added, "Yes, it is [hard], but it’s also kind of great because when you’re together you’re really valuing the time that you have. Everyday mundane activities are so full of joy. I love going to the petrol station with him and filling up the car and going to get breakfast."
