Last night, Adele effectively broke the internet as she simultaneously appeared on the covers of American and British Vogue. Having already released a teaser for her new single 'Easy On Me', the 33-year-old singer wore some seriously incredible looks, and got candid about her life out of the public eye, even giving a rare insight into her divorce from former husband Simon Konecki, and her new relationship with sports agent Rich Paul.

Speaking to Giles Hattersley for British Vogue, Adele opened up about her divorce from Simon Konecki, explaining the toll it had on her son and why the pair chose to end their relationship after 10 years together, saying, "I didn’t want to end up like a lot of other people I knew."

Adele explained the difficulties she's experienced as a single mother, following her divorce from Konecki, saying her son would ask her lots of "innocent" questions that she found difficult to answer.

One of the questions her son asks is, "Why can’t you still live together?" Adele then highlighted how she's used her latest album to answer this question:

"I just felt like I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness. It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal."

Discussing the end of her marriage to Konecki, Adele explained to British Vogue that there was no big fall out, but that the relationship had run its course.

She later reflected on how people have tried to spin her weight loss as being connected to the divorce, saying, "It’s ridiculous. I think it’s that people love to portray a divorced woman as spinning out of control, like, ‘Oh she must be crackers. She must’ve decided she wants to be a ho.’ Because what is a woman without a husband?," adding, "It’s bullsh*t."

She told American Vogue that she was "just going through the motions and I wasn’t happy".

She added, "It was just: I want my son to see me really love, and be loved. It’s really important to me. I’ve been on my journey to find my true happiness ever since."

The Hello singer also officially confirmed her relationship with spots agent Rich Paul, adding that they're "very happy" together, and revealing that they met at a party a couple of years back.

She explained that she dated other people before getting together with Rich, but that her dates found it too difficult being with someone as famous as she is. However, according to Adele, Rich isn't too worried about her fame. "[H]e’s not frazzled by it at all," she continued. "It feels like it’s consistent and considerate enough that I don’t care who knows [...] He’s great. He’s so f**kng funny. He’s so smart, you know."

Great to have you back, Adele.
