Queen Elizabeth II was honoured with a standing ovation upon arrival at the Royal Windsor Horse Show for her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The final night of the equestrian extravaganza, which commenced last Thursday and came to an end on Sunday, saw a host of celebrities including actors Tom Cruise, Helen Mirren and Damian Lewis in attendance and pay tribute to the royal.

Marking the 96-year-old monarch's 70-year reign, the event saw crowds cheer as Her Majesty smiled on arriving at the proceedings with her son and daughter-in-law, the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

The Queen has been forced to cancel numerous public appearances in recent months due to ongoing mobility issues and health concerns, but she was seen on Friday at the annual horse show in good spirits.

Dubbed a 'personal tribute to our monarchy', the event paid tribute to Her Majesty and featured international and national military, equestrian and dance performances, including theTrinidad and Tobago Defence Force's steel drum troupe delivering an iteration of Abba's 'Dancing Queen'.

Earlier this month, Prince William attended the State Opening of Parliament in Her Majesty's absence as Counsellor of State (a senior member of the royal family who can step in for the monarch) while his father and the heir to the throne, Prince Charles, delivered the Queen's speech.

The Queen's absence was the first time in 59 years that she has missed the event, held at Palace of Westminster. The last was in 1963 when she was pregnant with her youngest child, Prince Edward.
