At this point, we’re going to assume familiarity with the latest style trend that has quickly taking over social media and the streets: the mob wife aesthetic. If we’re assuming incorrectly, here’s a quick summary of the viral aesthetic. Read up!

O.K., now that that’s squared away, we’ll get back to business. Supermodel Heidi Klum has for years been an icon in the world of fashion (at least, in our eyes). She has a way of styling the most unique and interesting pieces in a way that is both eye-catching and refreshing. She’s an innovator, there’s no doubt.

Only the latest example of her ability to take a style and make it absolutely her own is her absolutely incredible (and perhaps unconscious) take on the trending mob wife aesthetic. The style, which—like any—doesn’t have a specific “uniform,” but simply a general technique, involves a lot of bold features: big (almost gaudy) jewelry, fur, feathers, leather, a dramatic hairdo and a general “mob wife” attitude.

Klum’s latest outfit doesn’t fit the formula perfectly, but that’s what makes it so innovative and unique. She wore an all-black textured base, which had both black-and-blue fur adorning the hems and running up the length of the garment. She paired it with black heels, oversized silver sparkly jewelry, a dramatic smokey eye and an equally dramatic blown-out hairstyle.

With the addition of a black leather jacket and a vintage designer purse, the mob wife look would probably earn her the title of best we’ve seen yet.
