Heidi Klum: 'I've told Leni it's okay to say no as a model'

Heidi Klum tells her daughter Leni it's "okay to say no" when it comes to her career.

The supermodel's 17-year-old child embarked on a modelling career this year and Heidi has been making sure Leni trusts her instincts and doesn't feel pressured to do something that isn't right for her.

"I said to her, at the end of the day you have to be happy with yourself," the star told People. "And don't do anything you don't want to do. It's okay to say no. You don't always have to please people. But I'm always with Leni. And she has a very good head on her shoulders."

Heidi enjoys being actively involved in Leni's career and says the young star has plenty of exciting projects coming up.

"I've been helping her with deals and she has so many things in the pipeline," the 48-year-old fashion icon teased. "It's really exciting. She's doing the things I was always dreaming to do!

"She's not afraid of cameras because she's always come to my sets and my shows. She's quite strong in the sense where she plays with it!"

Leni kicked off her modelling career by sharing the January front cover of Vogue Germany with Heidi, before landing her first-ever solo cover with Glamour Germany.

She recently signed with her first agency, CAA Fashion - the Hollywood talent agency's fashion division - and will be represented by them in all areas.
