Sue Radford has been left heartbroken after the tragic death of her best friend's daughter, Sophie Walker. Sophie was just 17 years old and Sue revealed that she died last night (7 July) after a seven-year battle with a rare kidney cancer.

Sue, who is known for being mum to Britain’s biggest family with 22 kids, is best mates with Rebecca - Sophie’s mum. The pair got to know each other when Rebecca reached out to Sue after giving birth to twins in 2013, and they have been firm friends ever since.

Commenting under an incredibly emotional post by Sophie’s family on Instagram, Sue described Sophie as a "kind-hearted, funny, brave girl".

She wrote: "Sophie our hearts are broken, you really were the most beautiful kind hearted funny brave girl I know.

"We will miss your beautiful smile and laugh so much, you rest now Sophie and take care of your beautiful amazing family.

"Love you forever beautiful girl."

As the post by Sophie’s family shared, the teen passed away from the disease known as Wilms tumour, which she was first diagnosed with in 2017.

Announcing her tragic passing, Sophie's family wrote: "Our beautiful, intelligent, funny and brave girl Sophie fell fast asleep last night just after 6.30pm with Megan lying by her side.

"We love her with all our hearts and our world will never be the same again, to say we are heartbroken is a complete understatement. Please keep our broken family in your thoughts and prayers, this is a post I never ever thought I’d have to write."

Sue has also been dealing with a personal tragedy of her own recently as the anniversary of the birth of her son, who was stillborn 10 years ago, arrived.

She wrote, “This time 10 years ago I was in the labour room being told our beautiful baby boy had no heartbeat. I would be induced a few hours later for him to be born silent but perfect at 7:45am the next morning.”

The star of 22 Kids And Counting went on to make the heartbreaking statement: “This time of year never gets easier. I can’t believe it’s 10 years tomorrow since he was born.”

Her baby, Alfie, was supposed to be her 17th child, but she was devastatingly informed at the three-month scan that the doctors could no longer find his heartbeat. Sue has posted in memory of his passing every year since getting the terrible news.
