We're all a little obsessed with hats at the moment, mostly because the office is brimming with excitement about Grazia's Hat-Factor. If you haven't already heard, we're offering you the opportunity to be part of London 2012 Festival, in celebration of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, plus have your designs featured in Grazia (click here for more details).
With this in mind, we've been going through our show notes and are pleasently surpised with all the wonderful (and sometimes weird) hats we've seen during the month of Fashion Weeks. From Stephen Jones' Victoriana eccentric oversized hats at Marc Jacobs to Dolce & Gabbana's ladylike head ornaments, we've rounded up the best for our hat edit below. Do enjoy!
First up is the eccentrics! Anna Sui provided the cutesy knitted owl wooly wonders and owls at Burberry. OWL TREND ALERT! Then Stephen Jones collaborated with Marc Jacobs for his A/W collection to create these oversized floppy hats that can only really be described as pimp hats. Weird but definitely wonderful. Next up are the pretty ladylike head ornaments we feasted our eyes on. In Milan we saw the pretty floral and beaded headbands and hair clips at Dolce and Gabbana. The girliest show in town! Then we fell in love with these pretty black sparky headpieces at Emporio Armani. The most apt alternative offering to feathery fascinators for weddings and races. At Ralph Lauren we got some old-school uncomplicated mannish wool felt hats paired with their signature quirky preppy style. We also got a dose of masculine charm at Donna Karan, where the designer extrodinaire put a feminine twist on the traditional top hat. Sweeeeet! Pics: Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan
Utilitarian peaked hats were the suprise trend of the season, cropping up at Topshop Unique in military khaki, feathered at Roberto Cavalli and at Lacoste in these glorious printed versions. Pics: Lacoste; Roberto Cavalli and Topshop Unique
And last but not least we adored these glam printed sun visors at the Jonathan Saunders show during LFW. May the print clash continue through to A/W '12! Pic: Jonathan Saunders
But do tell: which is YOUR fave hat?
