Despite being born with a collapsed lung, Pink prevailed in music by learning to sing from her abdomen. Pink was hospitalised in 2020 after contracting COVID-19 which left her breathless. She said: "It was terrifying at one point. I've had really, really bad asthma to the point where sometimes I end up in the hospital. I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn't breathe. I needed my nebulizer for the first time in 30 years. I couldn't function without it. That's when I started to get really scared."

As the frontman of one of the most popular rock bands of all time, Bono has one of the most influential voices in the industry. But little do fans know that the U2 singer alongside his son are affected by asthma. In fact Bono’s son Elijah Hewson - who is the lead singer of band Inhaler – named the band after his sister made a joke about his asthma. He said: "I had asthma for a while and people just kind of started calling us The Inhalers. It was something that stuck. It felt right."

Harry has been seen on stage using his inhaler on multiple occasions. During a concert in Los Angeles, he said: "You have asthma? Are you okay? Does anyone else have asthma? Make some noise for asthma!"

In 1989, the Oscar-winning actress played a woman suffering from the condition in comedy-drama 'The Lemon Sisters'. It was a role that Diane found easy to get into as she channelled her own experience of childhood asthma into her character. Keaton recalled how a coughing fit once made her think she was dying.

According to Slim Shady’s mother Debbie Nelson, the rapper has been suffering from respiratory illness from an early age. In her 2008 book 'My Son Eminem', Debbie wrote: "Since childhood he's suffered bouts of pneumonia. He's always had acute throat infections, like tonsillitis and he's asthmatic. His diet can't help."

The 'Goodfellas' director almost died in 1978 from drug induced asthma. He said: "Misuse of normal medications in combinations [to which] my body reacted in strange ways. I was down to about 109 pounds. It wasn't only drug-induced — asthma had a lot to do with it. I was kept in a hospital for 10 days and nights, and they took care of me, these doctors, and I became aware of not wanting to die and not wasting [my life]."

In 2012, the ‘Mean Girls’ actress was rushed to hospital following a severe asthma attack. According to her mother Dina, Lindsay was taken to the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York after complaining of severe chest pains. The showbiz matriarch said it was due to the high pollen count in the city that triggered a severe reaction. She said: “Lindsay had not been feeling well all last week, following a week of high pollen counts in New York. She has had bronchial asthma ever since she was little.”
