'Harry Potter' Fans Can't Believe 'Luna Lovegood' In 'Silent Witness'
Harry Potter fans will seek out a Hogwarts connection to anything, but they didn't have to look very far during the BBC's Silent Witness on September 6th.
None other than Luna Lovegood aka Evanna Lynch appears in a starring role in the new season, appearing in the first episode of the 24th season titled 'Redemption'.
The two-arc storyline saw Dr Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox) caught up in a prison fight saga, when an inmate is found dead. Ivanna played Paisley Robinson, the girlfriend of Scott Weston (Elliott Tittensor), who is visiting him in prison and advocating for a case review.
But fans on Twitter couldn't help but get distracted by pointing out the Harry Potter link, and witnessing the whimsical Luna Lovegood all grown up.
'Is that the girl from the Harry Potter films? #SilentWitness' one person wrote, while another put, 'Luna from Harry Potter!' Someone else said, 'Luna Lovegood popping up in #SilentWitness wasn't on my September bingo card.'

Back in 2017, Lynch, now 30, said she felt 'stuck' as her 18-year-old self, after spending seven years discussing her character on the Harry Potter convention circuit. 'It's a blessing to have a safety net and while it's possible to maintain safety and chaos together I believe I need insecurity to light a fire under my scared little artist's ass,' Lynch wrote on Instagram.
'I'm different now and need to honour that and challenge myself to create something else, something from the person I am today.'
Looks like she's doing just that!
