The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have vowed to offer their help, as the world attempts to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple, who will officially step down from their roles as senior royals on 31 March, will share accurate information and facts from trusted experts about the quickly developing situation, and how we can look after our families and friends via their website and social media accounts.

They will also provide insights and advice to maintaining both physical and mental health, as well as sharing uplifting stories from around the world of those who are coming together to help others.

"These are uncertain times," reads a statement shared on the couple's Instagram page. "And now, more than ever, we need each other. We need each other for truth, for support, and to feel less alone during a time that can honestly feel quite scary.

"There are so many around the world who need support right now, who are working tirelessly to respond to this crisis behind the scenes, on the frontline, or at home," the statement went on. "Our willingness, as a people, to step up in the face of what we are all experiencing with COVID-19 is awe-inspiring. This moment is as true a testament there is to the human spirit."

Using "empathy and kindness" as their guiding light, over the next coming weeks the royals will strive to be a positive service for anyone struggling with the ramifications of the virus.

Both Harry and Meghan are long-standing mental health campaigners and believers in the importance of connecting with one another, so their latest initiative comes as no surprise.

The pair conducted their final official duty as members of the royal family on 9 March for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.
