Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to have handed the keys to their UK home, Frogmore Cottage, to Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank.

Just two months after paying back £2.4 million for their renovations on the home, the Sussexes are passing on the baton - but not for good, as it's reported they intend to share the Windsor residence with Eugenie and Jack, who are expecting their first baby.

Frogmore Cottage was intended to be a UK base for Harry, Meghan and their son Archie when they return home, but this new development suggests the couple aren't planning to come back from LA any time soon.

When they announced their plans to step down as working members of the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle insisted they intended to "balance [their] time" between the United Kingdom and North America, so the Duke and Duchess could "continue to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages."

Coronavirus has meant the Sussexes haven't been able to return to the UK as much as intended, though, so perhaps they think it's time to share the love with Harry's cousin.

While this means we're unlikely to see Harry and Meghan back on British soil any time soon, it's lovely that Eugenie and Jack will have somewhere homely to raise their baby early next year.
