Harry and Meghan are apparently considering having a "second base" in the US

  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be considering having a "second base" in the United States.

  • The family is visiting California next month.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have apparently been discussing the possibility of having a second home in the US.

The couple, along wth their baby son Archie, are planning six weeks away from royal duty next month to give themselves a break after a stressful time. A royal source told the Sunday Times, “The Duke and Duchess have a full schedule of engagements and commitments until mid-November, after which they will be taking some much needed family time.”

And apparently they're considering more than just a holiday to Meghan's birthplace. A source told The Sun: "There's an acceptance that things haven't worked out with the Sussexes full-time in Windsor so they could have a second base in America."

Spending time outside the UK is clearly something the couple is thinking seriously about. In the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, Harry admitted: “The rest of our lives, especially our life's work will be predominantly focused on Africa, on conservation.

"I don't know where we could live in Africa at the moment. We've just come from Cape Town, that would be an amazing place for us to be able to base ourselves, of course it would. But with all the problems that are going on there, I just don't see how we would be able to really make as much difference as we'd want to.”

There's no doubt we'd miss them if they moved, but we're hoping they figure out what's best for them.
