Halsey publicly updated their pronouns over the weekend, and has since taken to social media to thank fans for all the support.

The 26-year-old singer, who is currently pregnant with their first child, changed their Instagram bio over the weekend to include pronouns. It now reads, 'Doing everything, all at once, always, while I can. ⚔️⚔️⚔️ (she/they).'

Fans took to social media to shower Halsey with support. One person wrote, 'I hope Halsey changing their pronouns gives others the confidence to express what also makes them feel comfortable. It’s okay to not fit into the categories society puts you in.'

Another added, 'Halsey changed their pronouns / I’m so proud of them' and a third said, 'This is huge and I’m so happy for them omg.'

LGBT+ charity Stonewall defines non-binary (or identifying as 'them') as: 'An umbrella term for people whose gender identity doesn’t sit comfortably with ‘man’ or 'woman'. Non-binary identities are varied and can include people who identify with some aspects of binary identities, while others reject them entirely.'

The singer is currently pregnant with their first child with boyfriend Alev Aydin. In January, they shared three photos from a stunning maternity photoshoot.
