Halsey reveals secret health battle as she breaks down in tears saying 'I'm lucky to be alive'

Halsey has shared with her fans that she's been dealing with a serious health issue.

"Long story short, i'm Lucky to be alive. short story long, i wrote an album," the singer revealed on Instagram, sharing a series of clips documenting her health battle. Alongside the announcement of her new single, she also revealed plans to donate to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance.

However, she didn't disclose her specific diagnosis.

In one video, Halsey is seen massaging her legs, saying: "I feel like an old lady. I told myself I'm giving myself two more years to be sick. At 30, I'm having a rebirth and I'm not gonna be sick and I'm gonna look super hot and have lots of energy and I'm just gonna get to re-do my 20s in my 30s."

In another clip, she shows some medical equipment while wearing a mask, stating: "Today is day one of treatment."

She then gave fans a sneak peek of her new song by sharing a screenshot of a conversation where she sent a voice note titled "the end of the f*****g world."

Her friend Anthony partially responded with: "Got chills, that's hauntingly."

She also shared a heartfelt video of herself singing and strumming the guitar, showcasing her newly shaved head. To top it off, she posted a powerful montage documenting her struggle, beginning with an emotional clip of the singer in tears.

The montage progresses to reveal snippets of her undergoing treatment, culminating in Halsey reflecting on her music.

Previously diagnosed with a range of health issues including postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren's syndrome, and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), Halsey has been open about her health battles.

The artist gave her followers a heads-up on Monday about new music dropping, but had not hinted at the startling revelation of her health condition. On Instagram, she announced: "I'm releasing the first song off my 5th album tomorrow 6/04 at 9am pt / 12 et. Before the first single comes, I wanted to share this. It means a lot to me and I love it. Let's try something different this time and start at 'The End.'".

Fans and friends have taken to the singers post to send her well wishes, as one wrote: "YOU’RE SO STRONG!"

"I will love you until the end of time. You are so strong h, we will get through this together," penned another.
