Many stars receive a calling from God and have embraced a new religion, others have chosen to convert to a completely different one instead. The ‘Transformers’ star had a Jewish mother and a Christian father but decided to fully embrace Christianity back in 2014 after filming ‘Fury’. He told Interview magazine at the time: "I found God doing 'Fury.' I became a Christian man, and not in a bulls*** way, in a very real way. I could have just said the prayers that were on the page. But it was a real thing that really saved me."

The Oscar winner became interested in Hinduism after filming ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ in India. Speaking to ELLE in 2010, she said: "I'm definitely a practicing Hindu." Roberts also revealed that her Christian family go with her to "chant and pray and celebrate".

The rapper has changed his religion several times. Snoop, who was previously a Muslim, changed his name to Snoop Lion in 20212 after announcing he was converting to Rastafarianism. After being accused of appropriating Rastafari culture by musician Bunny Wailer, Snoop Lion went back to being Snoop Dog in 2018 and called himself a “Born Again Christian”. He went on to release an album titled “Bible of Love”.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star started practicing Buddhism whilst he was studying for his exams as a student. During an interview with the global Buddhist network, Sokka Gakkai International, Bloom recalled how he was first introduced to the spiritual philosophy by his best friend David. He said: "It was one of those 'Aha' moments of 'Wow, this is meeting my mentor, meeting someone I've looked up to so much.'"

Born and raised as a Catholic, Katie started studying Scientology after meeting her future husband Tom Cruise in 2005, who is one of the highest ranking members of the sci-fi inspired faith. The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star tied the knot with the ‘Top Gun’ actor a year later in a Scientologist ceremony. The pair were married for six years until 2012, when Holmes decided to return back to her Catholic roots.

The ‘Now You See Me’ star - who was born to Scottish parents in Oman and moved to Australia at age of six - got married to Jewish comedian Sacha Baron Cohen in 2010. Before tying the knot with the ‘Borat’ actor, Isla said she would do anything to marry him, including converting to Judaism in 2007. She said: "I will definitely have a Jewish wedding just to be with Sacha. "I would do anything - move into any religion - to be united in marriage with him. We have a future together, and religion comes second to love as far as we are concerned. "I love the focus on family, food and laughter. "You know, I didn't get to go to university because I've been acting since I was a kid. So, for me, studying theology was also fascinating. I love Judaism."

The ‘Pretty Woman’ actor may have been born to Methodist parents, but he’s been practicing Buddhism since his 20s and even travelled to India and Nepal to deepen his understanding. He told Buddhist website Lion’s Roar: "I think like most young men I was not particularly happy. "I was pretty unhappy and I had questions like, 'Why anything?' Realizing I was probably pushing the edges of my own sanity. "I was exploring late-night bookshops reading everything I could, in many different directions." His favourite author was Walter Evans-Wentz's who wrote books about Tibetan Buddhism as they had an enormous impact on his belief. He added: "I just devoured them,"

The former Victoria’s Secret model wasn’t allowed to attend family gatherings at her boyfriend’s Josh Kushner’s home until she converted to Judaism. She told Vogue during a 2019 interview about her decision to convert ahead of their wedding in 2018. She said: "Changing part of who you are for someone else can be seen as weak, but you know what? Actually, if you've been through what I've experienced, it requires you to be anything but weak. It requires me to be stronger and self-loving and resilient. I really did not take this lightly. "It wasn't enough to just love Josh and make this decision for him. This is my life and I am an independent, strong woman. It was only after many years of studying and talking with my family and friends and soul searching that I made the decision to fully embrace Judaism in my life and start planning for a future with the man I chose to marry."

O’Shea Jackson aka Ice Cube, has been a practicing Muslim since the '90s. The former N.W.A rapper said: "What I call myself is a natural Muslim, because it's just me and God. You know, going to the mosque, the ritual and the tradition, it's just not in me to do. So I don't do it."

The ‘Rolling on the River’ singer turned to Buddhism when trying to end her tumultuous relationship with Ike Turner back in the 1970s. She told Oprah Magazine: "The women who sold drugs to Ike said, 'What are you doing here, Tina? How can you live with this madness?' Then one day, someone told me, 'Buddhism will save your life.' I was willing to try anything. I started to chant. Once, I chanted, went to the studio, and put down a vocal, just like that. "I thought, 'This chanting stuff works.' I was hooked. I still believe in the Lord's Prayer. I find a form of the Lord's Prayer in Buddhism."
