Forget your career goals, your questionable relationship status and deciding what you want to have achieved by the end of 2018 for just a second.

Whether it be learning to embrace our curves, our 'tiger stripes' or those red scars from teenage acne, we're prioritising feeling confident, proud and happy in the skin we're in over anything else this year.

For inspiration, we're taking a leaf our of Halle Berry's book.

Yesterday the 51-year-old former Bond girl posted a throwback snap of herself in a black bikini on her Instagram page to welcome in the new year.

She captioned the picture: 'Coming for you 2018'.

Fans applauded the Oscar-winner's flawless image, with one follower writing: 'You're amazing.' Another wrote 'totally beautiful and stunning and gorgeous' while one devoted fan called her a 'goddess'.

Berry's post comes days after she published a picture of herself holding a middle finger up to the camera, sticking her tongue out while posing on the beach, months after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend, music producer Alex da Kid.

'Dear 2017, you can be a good person with a kind spirit and still tell people to go F*CK themselves when needed. P/S... thank you middle finger for always standing up for me!' she captioned the snap.

We hear you, Halle.

The X-Men star's post also comes amid the news she will join a host of Hollywood stars including the likes of Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Stone and Helen Mirren as a presenter at Sunday's 2018 Golden Globes.

Earlier this week, Berry posted a photograph to Instagram in support of the Time's Up initiative which was set up to support women and protest against sexual harassment and gender inequality in film, television and wider society.

'Time's up on silence. Time's up on waiting. Time's up on tolerating discrimination, harassment or abuse,' she wrote below the post.

Could 2018 be the year of Berry? Stay tuned.
