Halle Berry isn't afraid to get a bit edgy with her hair.

The Bruised actress, 56, took to Instagram on Saturday to share her new style, which took her current blond cut to a whole new level.

"So this is how the haircut started... and this is how it's going," the Oscar winner shared in a video taken from inside her bathroom. While her hairstyle appeared the same from the front, it became clear as she turned to the side and revealed the back that things were a little bit different. Berry buzzed the hair on the side of her head, and added in a series of zigzag shapes that cascaded upward and around to the bank.

"Thank you Ohre," she concluded, a nod to groomer Ohre Kilpatrick, whom she tagged in the video.

In her Instagram Stories, Berry showed an additional shot of the cut from the back.

Fans and friends went crazy for the sassy new 'do.

"Oh yes," commented Selma Blair, while Arsenio Hall simply wrote "Bang!" Jamie Foxx replied with a series of fire emojis, while Tamron Hall simply wrote "Damnnnnnnn!" Several followers lauded Berry for her willingness to go a bit untraditional.

Berry's short cuts have been the stuff of hairstyling history. She famously earned her Academy Award for her performance in the 2001 drama Monster's Ball and made history as the first Black actress to take home a Best Actress Oscar. In tears, Berry took to the stage to receive her trophy, while sporting a pixie cut that spawned a million copycats.

In the years since then, Berry has played her with her hair choices, making it clear that her beauty decisions can't be determined by anyone else's agenda. Commonly referred to as one of the most beautiful women in the world, Berry has made it clear that she's conceived her own idea of what beauty means.

"Beauty is so subjective, but that word has been tagged to me since the beginning of my career. And so I've had to work really hard to dispel what beauty is and what beauty does and what beauty can do," she told CBS Sunday Morning's Kelefa Sanneh last year. "Do you think this package that I walk around in spares me any real-life situation?"

Now 56, the mom of two has made it clear that her age doesn't determine her feelings of worthiness.

"Age is just a number, and I have never felt defined by it," Berry told Who What Wear in 2021. "It is a bit frustrating that people want to place so much emphasis on the age of women. Somehow, it feels a bit degrading, like it puts us at a disadvantage. Men get older, and they get sexier, but women just get old. I think that the older we get, the better we become. We just have to convince ourselves of that fact because I absolutely believe it to be true!"
