Can you believe it's been two whole years since Justin and Hailey Bieber managed to fool us all and secretly get married at a New York City courthouse? Us neither. Fortunately for fans, the couple are now a little more forthcoming with some parts of their relationship, and over the weekend they shared what they were doing to celebrate their two-year wedding anniversary.
Keeping things incredibly low-key, the pair marked the special day with a simple picnic in the sunshine. "Picnic lady," Hailey captioned the shot of tubs of food and packets of crisps spread out over a blanket.
Meanwhile, Justin posted a video of a beaming Hailey singing along to Jhené Aiko's 'Never Call Me'. "2 years today @haileybieber .. xoxo 😘," he wrote.
The cute couple officially tied the knot on September 13, 2018 with their courthouse wedding, but then threw a ceremony a year later at Montage Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina in front of celebrity friends and family.
Hailey later opened up about why they waited a year for the ceremony, telling Elle that it was down to Justin being diagnosed with Lyme disease.
"When we first got married, we were just figuring out our life together. I felt like putting a wedding in the middle of all that would be really hectic and stressful," she told the magazine.
She added, "It was months of me being a new wife trying to help him figure out what was wrong and what was going on. Now he’s perfectly healthy." Hailey explained that "going through that and then trying to be like, 'So where does our wedding fit into this?' didn’t feel like the vibe at all."
We're glad you finally got to throw your dream wedding, guys. Happy anniversary!
