Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner's MUA just overhauled my eyeliner technique
It seems that as lockdowns ease across the world and people are beginning to head to salons, travel and socialise once more, remembering how the hell to do make-up - in particular, eye liner - has been on our minds.
Luckily for us, Mary Phillips - MUA to Kendall Jenner and Hailey Beiber, among others - just released a tutorial for her signature summer look (FYI using a whole load of beautiful Tom Ford makeup - prepare to drool.)
You can watch the full video here, which includes a few mind-blowing moments, like sweeping blush over a fully-done eye look to add a sun-washed glow, and some serious lip over-lining wizardry.
But for the eyeliner enthusiasts among us, here's a brief summary of her trick.
First, she applies kohl liner to the top waterline, but from below her lash line, wiggling the nib of the pencil between the lash roots to add tiny, barely visible deposits of colour above the lash line.
While demonstrating the method she explains: "I like to do this little thing where I grab my lashes and I go underneath. It makes the lash line look really thick without having to add, like falsies or anything."
Mary then adds a little extra liner in the outer corner and smudges in extra brown shadow on a small brush to intensify the colour. The result is a super clean, minimalist and borderline invisible liner, set with shadow.
Eye definition that'll stay put perfectly when I'm crying with joy at over first Bloody Mary in months? I'm sold.
