‘We had a baby last night. He is perfect...' These stars had rainbow babies after suffering miscarriages

Some celebrity women have experienced what nobody should ever live: losing a baby during pregnancy. While these stars faced very difficult times after experiencing abortions, the happiness eventually knocked on their door in the form of a baby! Find out their stories here.

Meghan McCain - the former co-host of 'The View' - announced in March 2020 that she and her conservative writer husband Ben Domenech were "blessed to find out" she's expecting a child. The couple welcomed daughter Liberty into the world in September 2020. Her happy pregnancy news came around eight months after McCain wrote an op-ed for The New York Times in which she revealed she had experienced a miscarriage. She wrote: "For a brief moment, I had the privilege of seeing myself in the sisterhood of motherhood. "I had a miscarriage. I loved my baby, and I always will. To the end of my days I will remember this child — and whatever children come will not obscure that."

In 2018, the ‘Orange is the New Black’ star had to make the painful decision to terminate her pregnancy, following a devastating medical diagnosis . Laura told People: “Our neonatal specialist told us the brain was not growing and the bones were not growing. We were told the pregnancy would not go to full-term and that my body was at risk carrying any longer.” But Prepon got her rainbow baby when she got pregnant again and welcomed a baby boy in February 2020, along with husband Ben Foster.

In July 2019, the ‘7th Heaven’ star took to Instagram to share with her followers that she lost twins to a miscarriage in November 2018. She wrote: "As much as it sucks, I feel like, for me, there was a lesson there, and I’m taking it to heart because … I always have to see that life is a journey and that there’s a reason for it." The following year, in July 2020, Beverley welcomed daughter Mayzel Josephine.

'Ghost' singer Halsey welcomed baby son Ender in July 2021. Her rainbow baby came six years after she experienced a miscarriage in 2015. Halsey recalled the awful moment to Rolling Stone magazine admitting "that was the moment of my life where I thought to myself, ‘I don’t feel like a human being anymore,’” as she had to ask her personal assistant to get her diapers, so she could still perform live.

Mike and Lauren Sorrentino, the couple known for the reality TV show ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’, welcomed baby Romeo into the world in May 2021. Their bundle of joy arrived one year after Lauren had endured a miscarriage.

‘Twilight’ star Kellan Lutz and his wife Brittany lost their baby in 2020 to a miscarriage. But in February 2021 the pair announced a new addition to their family, daughter Ashtyn. Brittany took to Instagram to share the joyous news by writing: "The day she came into the world it was snowing, raining and freezing, but that night she was born and we woke up to sun, clear skies and winter melting away. "It was so symbolic considering this time last year was literally winter for our souls only to be met one year later with the brightest sunshine. She ushered in a new season for us, and we love her beyond comprehension."

Pop superstar Pink told USA Today in an interview that she suffered several miscarriages, starting at the age of 17. She said: "When that happens to a woman or a young girl, you feel like your body hates you and like your body is broken, and it’s not doing what it’s supposed to do.” However, the Grammy winner was able to make her dream of having a family come true, as she has had two kids, daughter Willow and son Jameson, with her husband, motocross racer Carey Hart.

In 2021, ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star James Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly welcomed a baby boy they named Jeremiah into the world, after experiencing multiple miscarriages. James shared the happy news about the couple's sixth child in an Instagram post that read: "Humbled and overjoyed to announce the safe, happy arrival of Jeremiah Van Der Beek. After experiencing late-term pregnancy loss twice in a row (both at 17 weeks), we kept this one quiet."

Meghan Markle, former ‘Suits’ star, revealed she had experienced a miscarriage in 2020, which she described as “carrying an almost unbearable grief” in a New York Times essay. But in 2021, she and husband Prince Harry found the light at the end of their rainbow when they surprised the world by announcing that she had given birth to daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. In a statement, they said: “She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe.” Harry and Meghan are also parents to three-year-old son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

In 2019, the 'Living Clearly Method' author lost two babies' one after the other. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Hilaria wrote: "I had two miscarriages in a row in 2019 – the second at 4 months. I was told 'it's just bad luck'... there is so much mystery why certain souls come into our lives and others do not." The following year, the Baldwins welcomed their fifth child into the world, son Eduardo. Posting an an adorable pic of the tot on Instagram, the accompanying post read: “We had a baby last night. He is perfect and we couldn’t be happier. Stay tuned for a name.”
